When did you launch your store?  What inspired you to start? 

March of 2011.  Aileen (my wife) is an active portrait photographer and was tired of working with other drops (muslins, paper, etc) as most drops wrinkled or tore easily and were a pain to store.  She decided to find a way to design and create her own backdrops that wouldn't wrinkle and could be easily used.  One of the nice things about our drops/floors is that we truly believe in our product as Aileen uses our drops for all of her shoots. 

Which one of your products is your personal favorite?  (Is there a reason for this?) 

Vintage Candy Shop, Santa's Sweet Tooth, and Santa's Workshop.  Reason - all 3 of these drops were derived from actual sets we built in our studio.  We put a lot of hard work/thought into these drops and it's been wonderful to see our fan's putting them to great use.  

 

What are two products that have consistently been good sellers for you? 

By far the best selling product is the 60x80in Double Sided drop.  It's the best value as the customer gets to have 2 designs (of their choice) on 1 drop.  Minimizes storage space and maximizes ease of use during shoots.  Probably the best selling designs have been "Simple Vintage" and "Vintage Candy Shop".   Overall our best selling genre has been our Doors category.

Tell us a little more about yourself and what makes you who you are....    

We are married with 2 kid's (son 4 and daughter 6) and live in Carlsbad, CA.   We love traveling, taking pics, spending time with our kids, and anything to do with the beach.

Product Review and Giveaway: Sweet Pea Boutique

It's time for another fun review and giveaway and this week it's courtesy of Sweet Pea Boutique.  Trista is the amazing designer behind Sweet Pea and she specializes in Mommy-made items for little boys and girls.  Children's clothing, bow ties, headbands, blankets…the list goes on and on!

Here's a little more about Trista's adorable boutique:  Sweet Pea Boutique was inspired by and is named after my own little sweet pea, my daughter Kinsey. When Kinsey was born, I gave up my career in public relations to be a stay-at-home mom. Let's be honest, I was bored and needed something to keep myself busy. So I resurected the sewing skills my own mother taught me as a young girl and started making things for my own daughter. This blossomed into creating all kinds of adorable items for little ones. 

My creations are inspired by the concept of dressing little boys and girls like miniature versions of adults. I dress Kinsey "to the 9s" every day (my husband says I think she is a dress-up doll)! There's no need for little girls to wear babyish prints when they look adorable in bold fabrics and what little boy doesn't look dashing in a bow tie? 

I also make a couple of items for children with special needs. Kinsey is my inspiration for these items as well. Kinsey has Trisomy 18, or simply put, too much of chromosome 18. It's a miracle that she is here and growing and learning and doing new things every day!
